While PKED doesn’t offer employment services directly, we work closely with all local employment agencies in the City and County of Peterborough to support local businesses.

Workforce Development Board
Workforce Development Board is a not-for-profit organization located in Peterborough and serves Northumberland, Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, and Haliburton. Founded in 1996, WDB is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development to provide labour market information, coordinate employment, and training services, and engage employer communities.

Employment Planning & Counselling-Peterborough is a not-for-profit, charitable organization that aims to provide superior career development and employment-related programs and services.

Muskoka-Kawarthas Employment Services
As the Government of Ontario’s Service System Manager (SSM) for employment services, Muskoka-Kawarthas Employment Services (MKES) oversees the operation of all employment service providers in the Muskoka-Kawarthas economic region. Together, with its service providers, MKES has designed an employment hub that provides locally-responsive services, empowers people to find and keep jobs they want, and help employers find the labour they need.
