When it comes to innovation in Peterborough & the Kawarthas there is something in the water. It came as no surprise to us that in Water Canada’s most recent issue they named Peterborough the 2nd best place in Canada, and #1 City in Ontario to launch a Watertech Startup.

What makes Peterborough & the Kawarthas unique? It is a region that is literally shaped by its connection to water (with the Trent-Severn Waterway winding its way through the City and its surrounding communities). We also have what Water Canada calls “globally-recognized perks” such as offering the most comprehensive mass spectrometry facility in Canada and a fully-accredited laboratory offering analysis that is both standard and highly customizable.

Pair that with a business ecosystem that sets startups up for success with Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment, Cleantech Commons, Innovation Cluster and Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development – and we know that we are well on our way to becoming a known hub for WaterTech.

Here are the communities we stacked up with:

  1. Sherbrooke, PQ
  2. Peterborough, ON
  3. Hamilton, ON
  4. Calgary, AB
  5. Saskatoon, SK
  6. Vancouver, BC

Read about what makes Peterborough an amazing city for Watertech companies to set down some roots.
