PKED Welcomes New Board Members, Releases Annual Future Ready Report Card
[PETERBOROUGH, ON]: Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development (PKED) held the corporation’s annual general meeting (AGM) Thursday morning, welcoming three new board members, and released an annual report card summarizing the key activities undertaken by the region’s lead economic development agency in 2022.
The PKED Board of Directors welcomed 4 new board members; Mary MacLeod, Glennice Burns, Richard Freymond and Paul Hickey. Departing board members Robert Gauvreau, Sandra Dueck, and Sandra Clancy who were thanked for their countless hours of service to the organization and their valuable contributions to the local community. Remaining board members include Sheridan Graham, Jonathan Drew, Erin McLean, Tania-Joy Bartlett, Nicole Stephenson, Terry McCullough, Ian Almond, Burton Lee, and Matt Strano.
In addition to regular business, including a clean auditors report, and updates to PKED’s bylaws to ensure conformity to the Ontario Not for Profit Corporations Act, outgoing Board Chair Terry McCullough delivered a final report reviewing key activities undertaken by the board, commending the local business community.
“Being in business hasn’t been easy over the last few years throughout the pandemic. Congratulations to each of the 3500+ businesses that operate in the City and County continuing to employ our residents. They continue to invest in this region and are passionate about making this community a prosperous place to live, work and invest.”

Incoming Chair Burton Lee closed the event, noting that “it is an exciting time for growth with GTA expansion. PKED is ready for the challenge – we have big plans and look forward to delivering our work as the lead regional economic development agency for the City and County of Peterborough.”
