Fall Shoulder-Season Content Development

Sustainable destination development is an important aspect of responsible tourism attraction. Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism continued to sharpen the focus on building the region’s shoulder seasons to drive year-round visitation and spending for the region.

One of the most effective tactics is partnership-building with trusted travel writers, bloggers, and influencers. In the second half of 2022, PKT hosted and worked with multiple writers, including Toronto-based creator Yashy Murphy from Parenting to Go and Freelance travel writer Doug O’Neill.

Yashy Murphy – Parenting to Go

Yashy Murphy from Parenting to Go visited the Peterborough & the Kawarthas region in late summer, and early fall, with family and friends. Yashy featured the destination in a blog feature, across social media, and in a YouTube video, highlighting family-friendly experiences, businesses, and restaurants.

Doug O’Neill – Toronto Star

Doug O’Neill travelled to Peterborough & the Kawarthas to feature the region in a shoulder-season getaway article. The article shared indoor and outdoor experiences during the fall season with a suggested itinerary for road trippers to follow.
