Summer Company Startups Announced
Peterborough & the Kawarthas Business Advisory Centre is pleased to once again support the creation of new student-owned and operated companies with the announcement of seven business start-ups through the Government of Ontario’s Summer Company program.
The following entrepreneurs will be connected with training, mentorship, and up to $3,000 in funding through Summer Company:
Dustyn McCready-DeBruin: Dusty Dives
Dusty Dives specializes in dock repair, underwater weeding, and retrieval dives for missing items.
Kathir Puvendran: Kip’s Window Cleaning
Kip’s Window Cleaning specializes in window cleaning including interior and exteriors, window sills, screens, eavestroughs and vinyl siding.
Wesley Penney: Nufit Program
Nufit Program specializes in quality professional workout and fitness programming for those new and experienced to fitness.
Samantha Hourie: Travelling Footcare Reflexology
Travelling Footcare Reflexology provides mobile foot reflexology: pressure techniques that help to reduce stress, enhance circulation and normalize metabolism.
Michael Tucker: Tucker’s Lawn & Order
Tucker’s Lawn & Order specializes in providing landscaping services that are focused on assisting seniors with manual labour and landscaping projects.
Austin Murray: AGM Academics
AGM Academics specializes in assisting Elementary and High school students through Math and Science by using incentive/tracking charts and lesson books to track and promote progressive learning.
Braden Pitre: Pitre Property Maintenance
Pitre Property Maintenance specializes in year round outdoor services Law Cutting, Weeding, Edging, Pruning, Hedge Trimming, Leaf Clean Up, Aeration, Seeding, Mulching, Landscaping, Snow removal, Sanding and Salting, and Lakeside residential services.
“We are excited to kick off another season of Summer Company,” said Peterborough & the Kawarthas Economic Development’s Director of Business Development, Suzanne McCrimmon. “This program allows enterprising, young professionals to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty as they learn the fundamentals or owning and operating a business.”
Summer Company, Ontario’s flagship youth entrepreneurship program, provides students aged 15 to 29 with the opportunity to open and operate their own business over the summer. Peterborough & the Kawarthas Business Advisory Centre has been a proud program provider for the City and County of Peterborough since 2001.
