Executive Aviation Cleared For Takeoff

Flying Colours Corp. has earned a respected international reputation since founder John Gillespie repainted his first aircraft 40 years ago. Since then, the business has evolved to also provide maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the global executive aircraft fleet.

Led by the core philosophies of technical innovation, business integrity, and service flexibility, the business is renowned for achieving excellence in everything it undertakes. The highly skilled workforce, based at Peterborough Airport and the Spirit of St Louis Airport in Missouri, includes technicians, engineers, designers, and artisans providing upholstery, carpentry, and interior services.

Summer 2023 ushered in a new era when Flexjet, one of the world’s leading private aviation companies, added Flying Colours to its portfolio. Recognizing the incredible talent, quality of work, and in-depth experience, Flexjet is optimizing its expertise to support the maintenance and refurbishment of its international fleet.

“As part of the Flexjet family, we add value by minimizing aircraft downtime and equipping cabins to the highest standards,” says Kate Ahrens, Flying Colours’ director of Corporate Development and Government Relations. “There’s a growing demand for fractional ownership and an increase in business aviation movements globally, so we’re excited to provide stylish, elegant, and truly unique interiors for Bombardier, Embraer, and Gulfstream aircraft.”

Flying Colours works closely with the Peterborough Airport executives to ensure the facility meets the needs and demands of its clients and has been integral in facilitating enhancements of the location. The mutual relationship has significantly contributed to the airport’s evolution and Flying Colours’ success.

While Flying Colours thinks globally, it is steadfastly loyal to the local community. “We’re committed to recruiting locally, and since 2009, have forged a relationship with Fleming College, providing students with invaluable experience as upholstery and cabinetry technicians.” This same community spirit extends to the sponsorship of numerous local sports teams and recreational programs.

“Executive aviation drives economies, supports business evolution, and acts as a force multiplier for job creation. It is a strengthening industry, and we are excited for our future with Flexjet as we expand our people, facility, and know-how,” concludes Ahrens.
